This gallery design is located on a site facing the north, located at the bottom of the hillside in the suburbs away from the city. Since the mountain is located on the south side of the site, it is proposed to place the building on a low position in the valley formed between the two tops of the mountain to secure natural light, ventilation, and view of the building. The organic connection with the natural environment is maximized. The design consists of two rectangular volumes that utilize the natural slope of the site, with a low office volume located on the front adjacent to the road, and the main volume for gallery use located on the upper side of the slope. The main volume has a performance hall in the basement and an external terraced space where performances can be performed. The overall architectural design focused on how to systematically link these natural landscapes and artificially planned buildings on a site with atypical shapes and natural landscapes with slopes. To this end, through analogy with works of art such as Sea Level, Shift, and Ramble among Richard Serra's works, the idea was to dominate and reconstruct the natural landscape with various linear artificial elements. Through this, the volume is read as a linear element based on the volume of the two buildings, and a response to the land using a number of walls that treat slopes and a box-shaped main volume serving as an object sitting on the wall was proposed.
