The design process of this house is governed by the specific conditions of the site, not the architect's own interest. This site is located on a slope facing south at the bottom of a low mountain located in the city center. The site has a unique shape that is connected to the possible design area at the rear through a narrow linear area facing access road. In particular, according to the building regulations, this site must have a tunnel-type entry space that connects from the access road to the inside of the site as the access road of the house is restricted so that it cannot be exposed to the ground. For this reason, a vertical cross-sectional configuration with two floors of underground space and an upper residential space exposed to the atmosphere is required. Accordingly, a platform for this house is planned in the upper part of the underground space, and an L-shaped two-story residential space opened to the southeast with the courtyard space. Since large parts of the house are buried in the soil, appropriate environmental responses such as natural lighting and ventilation for the underground space were considered at a reasonable level. The main residential space exposed at the top reflects the most efficient configuration and provides a multi-purpose room for families and an external terrace on the southeast side of the uppermost part to maximize the view of the southeast and raise awareness from the outside.
